Detail in Analyzing Data, this IPB Duo Computer Science Student Wins Championship
Good news came from Computer Science students batch 52 of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Saeful Ramadhan and Devy Apriansyah. They managed to get home with a victory after competing in a national competition event organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering, Gadjah Mada University (DTETI UGM). The National Data Analytics and Science Competition took place at DTETI Building, UGM Yogyakarta, (29/9).
In this competition, participants were challenged to provide an analysis of a dataset containing data marketing of a bank when conducting a campaign to offer time deposits to their customers. "What we do is make a prediction model to predict whether a customer will accept the campaign offer or not. Then each participant is given freedom of using any method," explained Saeful.
This competition is part of the National Youth Writing Competition which is also one of the 11th series of Lustrum DTETI. "This competition is not making a work, only making a predictive model for the dataset. We received good comments from the jury, our analysis is quite detailed for each variable," Saeful said.
Thanks to his hard work and effort, they were finally able to take home the title of third place. "Very happy, it was unexpected to be able to enter the top three, because the other finalists had a very strong background for this competition branch," he concluded. (RYS)
