Creativity can be developed by anyone, including students. Therefore, it is needed that an event is held to collaborate the students so that they are able to sharpen their creativity. This was the main goal from the Directorate of Students Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in coordinating Agrisymphony 2018 at the Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW) Yard, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (15-16/9).

“What we obtained from the series of events held during Agrisymphony 2018 was collaboration. The world keeps changing which means that students should collaborate with one another. This event was not only owned by us (the committee), but also by all the stakeholders from the Student Activity Unit (UKM), departments, and faculties,” explained the Deputy Chief of the Committee of Agrisymphony 2018, Nanda Hafidh.

“Every student has the right to be given a ‘stage’ for their self potential. The differentiation of potential from all students is what challenged us to hold this activity. We hope that in the future any other event that is initiated by the students can answer to this challenge. But must also be communal and have certain value in every forum,” said the Head of the Agrisymphony 2018 commiitee, Jundy Arief.

Creativity alone, according to Dr. Arif Satria as the Rector of IPB, is a skill which  can be easily obtained. Therefore, creativity must be owned by every student. “Creativity is what makes us competitive. Future competitions will not depend on assets, but they will depend on creativity and imagination. Students have a large oppurtunity to be able to increase their creatitvity as maximal as possible. Creativity is a power which we all posses and is unlimited. Creativity is unlimited, resources are limited,” he explained.

Dr. Arif hopes that all students will become active. “Do not become a busy person without any goal. I hope that Agrisymphony will become an event to motivate creativity as well as develoop you all to become creative people,” he added.

Agrisymphony alone was part of the series of events of the 55th Dies Natalis IPB. The activites that were held during the event were Mechanical Biosystem Fair, Laughing Chicken Festival 2018 (KAKNAS), Help Our Pets and Equine (HOPE), Pelung Chicken Festival 2018, Indonesian Student Agricultural Innovation Week (PIMPI), IT Today, International Scholarship and Education Expo (ISEE), Open House 55, and Physic Expo.
