Time to Give the Best: A Love Sign from the 30th Class Alumni of IPB

After a long absence of face-to-face meeting, the 30th Class Alumni (1993-2018) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) gathered again to establish friendship and togetherness at the "Silver Reunion of the 30th Class of IPB" event held at the IPB Baranangsiang Campus on 09 September 2018. The theme raised in the implementation of this reunion was 'Time to Give the Best'.

At the main event of the Silver Reunion, the 30th Alumni had the opportunity to give 30 units of bicycles completed with helmets and other equipment to IPB. The giving of campus bicycles was carried out symbolically by the Chairman of the Reunion Committee, Iqbal Elyazar, to the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria. The opening of this reunion event was marked by the release of 30 pigeons by the IPB Rector and the alumni.

In his remarks, the Rector of IPB hopes that the alumni will treat the alma mater like a mother. "The alumni were born and raised at IPB. In facing a new era of challenges, the alumni are expected to be able to help the younger students in responding the changes in order to become future leaders. Through this reunion moment, we hopes that networking with IPB alumni will bring about a greater generation than ours," said the IPB Rector. On that occasion, the Chairman of the IPB Alumni Association, Fathan Kamil, said that from all generations, it was only the 30th alumni which had the strongest determination for the silver reunion. Fathan hoped that new leadership will emerge from the 30th Class.

In addition to campus bicycles, the 30th Class Alumni also granted scholarships worth IDR 45 million to the students of IPB. The Silver Reunion of the 30th Class event was attended by around 1000 alumni and their families, supported by 18 companies as sponsors, as well as Metro TV and Radar Bogor as media partners. Rampak Gendang dance, grand prize in the form of motorcycle, various door prizes and fun games also enlivened this Silver Reunion event. The committee also involved 35 IPB students from various faculties who acted as usher to expedite the event.

Before the main event on 9/9/18, a series of Talk show activities themed 30 CINTA (Cerita Inspiratif Alumni – Alumni Inspirational Stories) had been held in five Faculties (FAPERTA, FATETA, FPIK, FAHUTAN and FMIPA) in April – September 2018 which was attended by more than 1300 IPB students. The talk show was intended to share stories, experiences and inspiration from the 30th Alumni who worked in various fields and professions. Iqbal Elyazar as Chairperson of the Committee was grateful that the 30th Class Alumni of IPB, which is spread in various parts of the country and abroad, could come to the Silver Reunion at the IPB Baranangsiang Campus. Representing the Committee and the 30th Class Alumni, Iqbal expressed his deepest gratitude to all parties who had fully supported the implementation of the Silver Reunion, including the IPB Rector and his staff both at the IPB Dramaga and Baranangsiang Campuses, sponsors and donors, and IPB students who had participated actively (ZSP).
