Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) received a working visit from the Ministry of Agriculture of Sabah Malaysia. The visit of the group led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sabah Malasyia, Drh. Daud Yusof consists of 19 people and was received directly by the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria, Deputy Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto and Deputy Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito. Monday (10/9) took place in the Meeting Room of the Rector of IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.

Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria welcomed the arrival of the group from Malaysia which aimed to see the IPB campus and the collaboration assessment. Drh. Daud Yusof is an alumni of the 35th generation IPB Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH).

"IPB feels proud that IPB alumni in Sabah Malaysia have become officials, such as Drh. Daud Yusof. IPB continues to enhance cooperation with Malaysian countries even IPB continues to select students for IPB veterinary medicine in Kualalumpur Malaysia. This year, around 31 students from Malaysia were accepted at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine IPB. I hope that Malasyia will continue to send its students to IPB to study not only in FKH IPB, but spread to other faculties in IPB, "said the Chancellor.

The Rector added that IPB was ready to establish cooperation to help develop in the Sabah region of Malaysia, especially in the fields of agriculture, plantations, livestock and fisheries. IPB will field agricultural experts to assist rice farmers in Sabah so that their yields will be better (can reach 9-10 tons per hectare), because now only reaches 4 tons per hectare.

Meanwhile, Drh. Daud Yusof expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from IPB to the Ministry of Agriculture of Sabah Malasyia warmly. Sabah will continue to increase work visits to increase cooperation in agriculture, plantations, livestock and fisheries.

He added, in Malaysia's Sabah region, agricultural products, especially rice harvests, only reached 4 tons per hectare, very far from the yields produced by IPB with IPB 3S rice which could reach more than 10 tons per hectare. So he hopes, IPB can help so that the rice harvest in Sabah can be abundant as produced by IPB.

According to him, cooperation with IPB must be carried out immediately so that the name IPB rises in the Sabah region of Malaysia. I am sure that IPB can help Sabah become an abundant rice producer, because IPB has qualified researchers and lecturers in their fields. Increased cooperation will also be increased in terms of education.

"Sabah will send the best students to study and study in the faculties in IPB, especially FKH IPB," he said. (NR)
