One problem that still needs to be prioritized in national development is strengthening competitiveness through increasing human resource competencies. Competitive human resources will be able to turn every challenge into an opportunity. This is one of the soft skills that must be built for college graduates in Indonesia in addition to reasoning and creativity.

"In addition, another challenge that we should look at in the field of employment is how to prepare a skilled workforce. However, now the reality shows that most college graduates tend to be job seekers (job seekers) rather than job creators (job creators) or entrepreneurs (entrepreneurs). The available employment growth is not comparable with the number of higher education graduates each year. We must deal with this adaptively, especially graduates who are going to enter the workforce, "said the Rector.

The Rector stressed that technological developments have been very rapid in recent years, and increasingly unifying the world and removing geographical barriers resulting in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution characterized by Cyber Physical Systems, the Internet of Things, and networks. The internet phenomenon, social media, and programs based on Android or iOS and others, not only facilitate communication between communities, but also change the paradigm in the fields of economics, politics, development of science and culture. Therefore, technology is a determinant of the changing trends in the world.

This phenomenon should be an encouragement and enthusiasm in acting and career in the midst of society. Armed with the skills and competencies gained during studying at the Vocational School of IPB, graduates have valuable opportunities to fill the needs of the workforce as well as entrepreneurs in the main sectors driving economic growth in Indonesia, especially agriculture in the broadest sense.

"On this occasion I convey that IPB has carved out a number of proud achievements. Alhamdulillah, this 2018 international ranking agency QS announced that IPB is one of the 100 best universities in the world, the QS World University Ranking by Subject Agriculture and Forestry.
