IPB Students Develop a 3D Landscape Innovation for Gunung Bawang Campsite, Bengkayang, West Kalimantan

A few Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) students have just performed their Thematic Student Study Service (KKN-T) in Bengkayang District. During this KKN-T they successfully created an innovation for a 3D landscape for Gunung Bawang Campstie with a local cultural atmosphere of the Dayak clan as a facility for the campsite and a nature tourism for students and toursits who visit Bengkayang.
The student from the Departement of Landscape Architecture IPB named Yudhy Darma alongside with his fellow teammates Arzaq Tahara F. (Departement of Management), Allia Nur Rahma (Department of Communication Sciences and Community Developement), Yosie Rizkha Amaf (Department of Agronomy and Horticulture) and Rachmadi Satria (Department of Land Resources) created the planning for the campsite which was suggested to be located in the Suka Bangun Village, Sungai Betung Region, Bengkayang District.
“This plan for the campsite has been long awaited for, seeing that their are no current camp facilities for the students especially for those from Bengkayang District. We hope that this plan can be implemented as soon as possible,” says Turman, the Head of Sungai Betung Region during the Final Workshop KKN-T IPB in Bengkayang District.
This innovation is a result of one of the programs from the KKN-T program which was 40 days long in the Bengkayang District which held the theme of Integrated Farming for Bengkayang. Besides creating this innovation for a campsite, the results of the other programs that the students have performed are trainings for integrated farming systems by making compost, silage and MOL (Local Microorganisme), field practicum of corn cultivation, mountain paddy, and also creating vertical gardens along with elementary school students.
