This Year’s Applicants of IPB Entrance Talent Testing Rise Almost Double

The Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Entrance Talent Testing (UTM) this year has significantly increased in the number of participants, almost twice that of last year, so this year’s selection is more competitive. Last year, the number of UTM registrants was about 5 thousand participants. While this year, there are 9103 applicants of UTM consisting of 4.535 written test participants held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Bogor, and 4.568 participants using the score of Joint Entrance Selection of State Universities (SBMPTN). UTM IPB is one of the entrance ways of IPB undergraduate degree program that is based on leadership, entrepreneurship, and agricultural.

There are two methods of selection, through written test conducted by IPB or through Joint Entrance Selection of State Universities (SBMPTN). A prospective student must choose one of the two methods of selection.

For those who do not apply SBMPTN or do not want to use the SBMPTN score, he/she must take the written test. If the prospective student wants to use the SBMPTN score, he/she does not need to take the written test. SBMPTN score that used is the subject in accordance with UTM IPB material which refer to the SBMPTN written test which consists of Academic Ability and Potential Test (TKPA) consists of Basic Mathematics, Bahasa Indonesia, English, Verbal TPA, Numerical TPA, and Figural TPA. In addition, the exam materials also consist of the Science and Technology Basic Capability Test (TKD Saintek) consisting of Science Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs IPB, Dr. Drajat Martianto said, “students accepted from this test will be expected to become scholars and future leaders of the nation with a strong agricultural development vision.” Furthermore, Dr Drajat said during the study in IPB, students who enter from UTM will get a special soft-skill charge to improve their personal qualities in terms of leadership and entrepreneurship and a sense of love for agriculture. The selection result of UTM IPB will be announced on July 21, 2018.

In addition, this year IPB opens international classes for Veterinary Study Program, Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program and Food Science and Technology Study Program. For this international classes, the test is also held today but only the TKD Saintek and the questions are in English. For Veterinary Medicine, there is a test of veterinary knowledge. (RYF)
