The IPB Retirement Community Holds a Halal Bi Halal
As many as 200 retirements of Bogor Agricultural Univeristy (IPB) were present at a Halal bi Halal (gathering to ask for forgiveness) event for retired employees of IPB which was held by the IPB Retirment Community. The event was held at the Yayasan Persaudaraan Haji Bogor (YPHB) building, Bogor (6/4).
The head of the Commitee for the Retired Community, Prof. Kurnia Sofyan announced that besides as an act of keeping in touch with each other and as a forgiveness forum amongst members, the aim of the event was also to strengthen the relationship between members of the retirement community. Currently, the number of retired members of IPB is as much as 1065 people. However, this data will continue to increase due to newest memberships and retirements who have passed away. This number consists of a dominated number of retirements of educational staff which amounts to around 700 people and 300 lecturers.
“Alhamdulillah, the retirements of IPB seem to be in good health and look quite fresh. I hope that we will be given the chance to perform worship during Ramadhan next year,” he says.
In Prof. Kurnia Sofyan’s opinion, this forum for the retirement community was created to fill in the retirement period. This community also created some programs amongst others are educational activities and training. Besides that, there are also tourism programs.
As the Daily Executor (Plh) IPB Rector, the Vice Rector of the Education and Students Division, Dr. Drajat Martianto and the Vice Rector of the Cooperation and Information System Division, Dr. Dodik R Nurochmat were present at the event.
“I as the representative for the Rector would like to express my deepest apologies. IPB until now would be nothing without the elders, the contribution of the elderly retirements is extraordinary in the growth of IPB. IPB is ready to help and accept suggestions with open arms,” says Dr. Drajat while he was announcing the message from the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria.
This event was also filled with an islamic lecture from the Head of the Masjid Prosperity Board (DKM) Al-Hurriyah IPB, Dr. Asep Nurhalim. A firm handshake and warm hug wiith the leaders of IPB and the retirements continues to add a stronger relationship amongst others. (AVR)
