Business School Bogor Agricultural University (SB IPB) graduated 594 alumni which is consisted of 31 Doctoral alumni and 563 alumni from Magister of Management (MM) program in the event of National Seminar “Enterpreneurship in Indonesia 4.0: Prospects and Challenges” together with Graduation of Magister and Doctoral Alumni of Business School – IPB, Saturday (28/7), at Pullman Hotel Jakarta Central Park.

“This graduation has added Doctoral alumni of SB IPB since its establishment in 2006 to 148 graduates, and Magister of Management alumni to 3,814 graduates since MM was established in 1992. All alumni with their various works in society, we hope you will be a part of IPB contribution to the economy development and to Indonesia,” stated Dean of SB IPB, Prof. Dr. Noer Azam Achsani. On this occasion, Prof. Azam shared his bliss, because SB IPB has succeed to maintain A accreditation for Master and Doctoral Program.

Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria in his welcoming speech stated, in global era, the current and future challenges of national development are felt increasingly harder. One of the problem that needs to be prioritizes in national development is strengthening competitiveness through competence improvement of human resource (SDM). Competitive human resource will be able to change every challenge into opportunity. “Current fact has shown that most of university graduates tend to be job seeker rather that being job creator or entrepreneur. Meanwhile, the growth of available jobs is disproportional with the number of university graduated each year. We must address this condition adaptively, especially our graduates will enter the workforce. Business School IPB has relevant role in fostering activity and spirit of entrepreneurship for university graduates to become entrepreneur who in the future will be able to create jobs. However, we are facing a completely different era with the previous one so we are demanded to be thorough and precise in understanding and adapting with the changes,” explained Rector of IPB.

Meanwhile, The Minister of Industry Republic of Indonesia (Menperin RI), Ir. Airlangga Hartanto, MBA when became Keynote Speaker on the event appreciated IPB with this graduation of SB IPB alumni, because IPB has produced many excellent graduates. Airlangga added, not only resulting many alumni to support industry sector, in this industry 4.0 era, IPB also has released IPB 4.0 program. “It surely is a part of supporting government program of Making Indonesia 4.0.”

In his explanation, Menperin mentioned several things about the opportunities and challenges of Indonesia government in facing Industry 4.0 era, where government has prepared program with  “tagline” approved by President RI that is “Making Indonesia 4.0”. “Countries in Asia also has prepared their self in this Industry 4.0 era, such as India with Made in India and also Thailand with Thailand 4.0, so Indonesia is preparing as well with Making Indonesia 4.0,” he explained.
