IPB Commemorates Pancasila Day

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) commemorated Pancasila Day by having a ceremony. Located in IPB’s rectorate field, Friday (6/1), this ceremony was attended by hundreds of participants from board of officials, structural officials, students, lecturers, and educational staffs.

Serving as the commander of ceremony was Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information System, Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito, M.Sc. Agr, who was also the acting official rector of IPB. Commander of ceremony forwarded the speech of President of Indonesia which stated that in these 73 years Pancasila has been a guiding star for Indonesia and has succeeded to survive in the middle of variety of ideologies that try to rule it out.

“A series of long process in the formulation of Pancasila by founding fathers of Indonesia for the sake of uniting the diversity, we need to remember it as well as explore and understand its spirit. It is our job and responsibility to ensure that Pancasila will always be present in every corner of our lives as well as our hearts and minds. On this Pancasila Day 2018, we have to confirm our spirit to unite, share, and accomplish achievements,” was one of important messages from President of Indonesia read by commander of ceremony.

President advised that Pancasila Day on every June 1 should be used as a moment of reminder, trigger and actualization of Pancasila values. “We have to strengthen the collective power of this nation and should not waste our energy in dispute and disunity. We have to do a big jump to improve the quality of human resources that are excellent and tough,” said the President.
