Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Vocational School of Communication Skills Program held cultural festival as the final project of Intercultural Communication Course in Bogor City Hall on 13th of May. The event, entitled “Festival Budaya Nusantara” (FBN), involves 335 students, divided into 18 cultural groups from various regions, Aceh, Minangkabau, Bangka Belitung, Palembang, Batak, West Java, Betawi, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Kalimantan, Makassar, Manado, Maluku, Toraja, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and Papua.

Director of IPB Vocational School Bagus P. Purwanto, M.Agr expressed his gratitude to the Bogor City Government who has supported and facilitated the venue for this event. This event is a form of application of learning at Vocational schools.

The rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria said that this activity is a form of course that transformed into an activity which then becomes additional soft skill for students.

“Students have experience in managing events and collaborative skills as well as the ability to manage the views in the context of the community. This is also part of education efforts in introducing and preserving the culture of Indonesia and this should continue to be done so that Indonesian culture can be widely known around the world,” he said.

FBN XI 2018 is a parable event that has been held since 2006. In this year, FBN XI theme “Harmoni Indonesiaku” which is one of the values ??of God for us to enjoy and not for us to deny. Tribal diversity is not a tribal number, cultural diversity is not a number, racial and religious diversity is not racial and religious numbers, differences can cause division but diversity will create a beautiful harmony.
