SMARTFEM IPB 2018 for “Dahsyat” FEM
Gong beating at Auditorium Mandiri Building, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) was greeted with applause and jargon of Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB. Symbolically, the beating of the gong opened series of activities of SMARTFEM IPB titled "Creative Economics for Millenials" which was held on 8-13 May 2018. SMARTFEM is a series of activities organized by Student Executive Board (BEM) FEM IPB in order to improve students' academic achievement at the faculty level.
In his speech, Dr. Asep Nurhalim, Head of Department of Sharia Economic Science, FEM IPB expressed his gratitude, pride and happiness to accompany the opening ceremony of SMARTFEM IPB 2018. "I feel the great hope that can be obtained from this activity. To all FEM IPB students, good luck on competing and compete well," he said.
Muhammad Berliansyah as Chief Executive Officer said that SMARTFEM has entered the second year in 2018. In this event, there would be held various competitions such as quiz contest, debating contest, ranking satu, speech contest, and essay contest. "Hopefully this activity can be a means to improve the intelligence and competitiveness of FEM students, and become FEM’s contribution in IPB and national level," he said.
In line with Berliansyah, Chairman of BEM FEM IPB, Muhammad Nurdiyansyah also stated that this activity was a momentum in commemorating National Education Day. "We hope that this activity will increase the academic capacity and other talent areas in FEM IPB and can contribute in national and international level," he said.
From various departments in FEM IPB, 150 students contributed in this activity. One of the participants, Aulia Nur Cahyani said that the concept of this activity was very good and interesting to follow. She hoped that SMARTFEM can continue to become an annual event and more students would enthusiastically contribute in this activity. Throughout the event, all participants enthusiastically shouted FEM IPB jargon which is "FEM! Dahsyat! FEM! Dahsyat! FEM FEM FEM! Dahsyat dahsyat! ". (RYF)
