IPB Students Achieve 1st Place of Pharmaceutical Debate Competition
Achievement boast back to the students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in the national arena. This time, three IPB students consisted of Bella Safira and Roza Destrinanda (both from the Management Department) and Futiha Hikmatul Husna (Department of Biochemistry) won first prize in Pharmaceutical Debate Competition at Hasanuddin University, South Sulawesi (13-14 / 4). The Pharmaceutical Debate Competition is one of a series of activities within the framework of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research Competition (Prescription) 2018.
This competition is an annual event that is quite prestigious and very interested by health students, especially pharmacy students in Indonesia. To win the competition, the three students must compete with teams from universities all over Indonesia.
The topics covered in this race were health, health policy analysis and other interesting things about pharmaceuticals.
"We are very enthusiastic about participating this competition, and it is my first experience in the debate competition. It is good to have collaboration in the team, I got a lot of knowledge about pharmacy and health and can learn debating techniques from my own team and also from the opponent team," Bella said.
Expressing arguments and solutions in this competition became a challenge for the three of them. Especially they must face motions around the world of pharmacy, so they should do a lot of reading and sharpening the intelligence analysis.
"From the beginning round to the grandfinal we felt very grateful. We always won against the opponent teams. We were confused when we should understand the topic of traditional medicines that included in the BPJS list. Alhamdulillah our team was successfully manage to the final round, "said Rosa.
After competing from the preliminary round to the grand final, the IPB team finally won first prize in this competition. The second winner was Hasanuddin University while the third was Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (TK).
