IPB Hosted Indonesian State Universities Discussion Towards Internationalization

To strengthen the implementation of Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) towards university internationalization, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) hosted Coordination Meeting (Rakor) Body of State Universities' Quality Assurance Forum (FPM BKS PTN)-Barat 2018 in Dramaga campus (4/5). IPB was one of the pioneers of FPM BKS PTN-Barat, which consists of 32 state universities. In that meeting, 24 universities were present.

The convenor of the event, who is also the IPB's Head of Quality Standard and Assessment, Quality Management Office and Internal Audition (KMMAI), Dr. Chairun Nisa said that the Rakor was an event for universities to share informations and to learn from each other, especially regarding SPMI implementation in universities, so that every university can increase its overall quality.

"We have to keep our passion to increase our quality. We move together to implement the quality assurance system and to keep improving it, because quality itself is a process for us to be the best. If we don't move, we will be left behind. We hope that education can produce good and qualified human resources.", said Dr. Chairun Nisa.

During this Rakor, the Head of Sub-directorate of Quality Assurance, Directorate of Quality Assurance, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Syahrul Aminullah said that Kemenristekdikti had provided Mobile SPMI, which was a service for people to understand more about SPM-Dikti in order to build a better quality of higher education. 

With this Mobile SPMI, Kemenristekdikti can provide information services in the form of questions and answers regarding to SPMI and National Standard (SN) of Kemenristekdikti. In Mobile SPMI, there are 300 central and regional facilitators who are ready to provide services. Each higher educational institution has to always be up-to -date regarding the informations, and there will be appreciation for the institution whose the best SPMI.

"We hope with this program we will be ready to move towards internationalization. We have to be glad because this is the first time the government facilitate international accreditations", Dr. Fredinan Yulianda, the moderator of this event, explained. (Uum/Zul)
