Applying for Food Production Certification, PKM-K IPB Participants Visited incuBie

Entrepreneur Research and Development Center (incuBie) and Research and Community Services Institution (LPPM IPB) received a visit from the student participating in Student Creativity Program of Entrepreneurship (PKM-K). The students were accompanied by Dr. Ujang Suwarna, the Head of Sub Directorate of Student Reputation and Achievements, Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development IPB, Friday (4/05). The six participating teams of PKM-K with five members per team were present at Business Incubator Building IPB at Leuwikopo Dramaga to discuss and gain information regarding the application process of Certificate of Food Production of Domestic Industry (SPP-IRT) for their innovative product.

In his remarks, Dr. Ujang stated that the purpose of the visit was to learn the application and handling process of SPP-IRT so they could get the certificate of distribution permit. The teams that needed the certificate are as follows; Salma Septiana (DOSI), Uswatun Khasanah (Junkkrips), Nabila Amelinda (Helbygum), Alvin Jefry (Bibis), Fikri Wibiksana (Herby), and Husnul Rais (O'SHAKE).

The Ditmawa IPB group was welcomed by Head of Legal and Authorization of incuBie LPPM IPB, Drs. Asna Jauhari, along with Manager of Product Development, Dadang Tresnakusuma, Manager of Incubation, Fikri Azali, and Manager of Legal, M. Alfian.

In the discussion, Drs. Asna explained the obligations that must be fulfilled by everyone in the food processing business in order to market its product, which one of the obligations is to get the SPP-IRT, or usually known as P-IRT or IRTP. This is in line with Decree of the Head of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (Surat Keputusan Kepala Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan) Republic of Indonesia No. Hk. 03.1.23.04.12.2205 Date April 5th, 2012 regarding  SPP-IRT.

SPP-IRT submission procedure must be done by the businessman or the company's person in charge to the respective district or city Health Offices (Dinas Kesehatan) according to its domicile. Regarding this issue, incuBie IPB is prepared to facilitate the application of SPP-IRT for students participating in PKM-K or others.
