Creating Holiplay, IPB Students Carve Achievement at ITFest 2018
Three students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) showed their achievement in national level. Nizar Maulana Azhari, Azmi Iqbal Goldina Prakasa and Mohamad Ravena Utama are the 3rd winner of IT Business Case at ITFest 2018 which was organized by Information Technology Student Association (HIMATIF), University of North Sumatra. This prestigious event was held on 10-11 March 2018, with a selection stage conducted since December 2017.
Nizar, Azmi and Ravena collaborated in solving business cases by providing solutions through an information technology approach. They created sustainable business products in the form of "Holiplay" application.
"At this competition, participants were asked to complete a case related to the development of tourism in Lake Toba. We created a Holiplay application that will provide a new experience for backpackers during travelling," said Nizar.
Holiplay is an application designed for backpackers. The main features in this application are homestay booking, souvenir shop tracking using google maps, event list along with its details, and story visualization using augmented reality technology.
"We are grateful and did not expect to win this competition. Alhamdulillah, we are happy and proud to succeed in bringing the name of IPB in national level," said Ravena.
Nizar and his friends hope this Holiplay application can increase the number of tourists visiting Lake Toba by increasing the potential of tourism. "Hopefully this can be our initial asset to continue to work and motivate many people. We also hope that our created Holiplay application can be realized immediately," closed Azmi. (TK)
