Three of Four Alumni of IPB Worked Directly After Three Months Graduated
Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held the Studium Generale of “Pembekalan Karir untuk Para Wisudawan / Briefing Career for Graduates” which would be graduated on 21 March 2018, Monday (19/3) in Campus of IPB Dramaga.
Director of Student Affairs and Career Development of IPB, Dr. Alim Setiawan, in his speech, congratulated the prospective graduates who had fought hard. “After graduation, the graduates will face the tremendous challenges in the world of work and the entrepreneurship. With this activity, it is expected to increase the stock of the prospective graduates who want the careers or the entrepreneurship.”
In this briefing career, it presented the speaker of Achmad Zakaria, the Head of Recruitment and Training Development of PT. Asuransi Jiwa Generali Indonesia. Ahmad Zakaria was the alumni of the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) of IPB graduated in 2008.
Achmad did the sharing of how successful the career was. This event also presented the speaker of Aang Permana, the alumni of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science of IPB who was also the CEO of Cipetek Food.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs of IPB, Dr. Drajat Martianto, in his speech, conveyed some things related to the attitude of the graduates, if applied, had the positive values. “The successful people have certain qualities. Surely, the people have the ability to see the future or futuristic. How to capture the opportunities, the business nose sharpness, the intuition experience, the relationship, and the networking. The graduates also have to master the information. This positive nature, if it is built, I think, will open the door to build a network,” explained Dr. Drajat. According to Dr. Drajat, based on the survey, three of four graduates of IPB were accepted the work within three months after graduation. This was certainly very encouraging.
The Deputy Secterary General I of Alumni Association of IPB, Sukma Kamajaya, said the importance of the networking when graduating so as not to feel alone and to make it easier to get a job. “The Alumni Association of IPB is very concentrated in terms of building the network, therefore it is important for the prospective graduates to make the alumni cards. The benefit when having a card may have the feel to be proud of being a graduate of IPB. By having a card we can also benefit two networks. We can gather in the Alumni Association of IPB and get job opportunities,” explained Via. (dh/ris)
