IPB Students Take First IT School from Google
Vito Rizki Imanda, a student from the Department of Computer Science (Ilkom), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), participated in the first Developer Student Club Summit 2018 in Indonesia held live by Google Developer. This event took place at Marriott Hotel, Seminyak Bali for four days (2-4 / 3). Participants came from 60 universities in Indonesia.
"This activity is unique since the special softskills training for IT developers are rarely conducted. This activity enabled me to have partnerships with IT experts around Indonesia and I also have the opportunity to develop IT in IPB campus," said Vito.
As the only student representing IPB, Vito shared his experience during the activity. Initial selections were consisted of online file submissions, creating youtube videos, letters of recommendation from lecturers, until direct interviews by the Google team via video call.
After being declared passed, Vito attended a variety of training workshops and leadership of the latest technology guided directly by Google developers who work with Gaharu Activation, a startup assisted by Kibar.
"This activity is the first step to achieve my dream. Aside from my hobby in the IT world, I'm also developing a start-up software house called Codepanda," said Vito.
Through these activities, Vito has officially become a Leader Developer Student Club (DSC) in IPB. In the future, Vito will hold a weekly workshop that deals with Android Studio, which will be fostered directly by Google and cooperate with DSC in Jabodetabek.
"Hopefully the future-weekly workshop can be utilized by IPB students from all departments. I also want to advance Computer Science Department of IPB in IT field, so that our development will not be hampered even though we are far from IT center of Indonesia," hoped Vito. (TK)
