The Imam's sermon gives the congregation in Islamic teachings. Al Hurriyyah Mosque is a campus mosque, it is listed as the top 10 the biggest and grandest mosques in Indonesia.
The theme of his sermon was “Menjadi Muslim yang Amanah dan Profesional (Being a Trustful and Professional Muslim)”, the rector said that In Islam, every believer is a brother or sister to the other; we are one body, one nation. The right hand must be able to trust the left hand. A leader is expected to internalize the Islamic core values and realize them in his organization. The conceptual framework of leadership, based on Islamic values as the main thrust of leadership legitimacy. It is affirmed in the Qur'an that the essence of life to the death of a person is none other than to judge who is the most qualified deed of his deeds. Professionalism means doing all the activities of life by always paying attention to the quality of process and outcome.
The Rector explained the basic values to be realized to become a professional Muslim, they must follow the character of the Prophet Muhammad.
First; Shidiq (honesty). Honesty is a very valuable capital for every human being in carrying out all the activities of his life. When making decisions / taking actions, we must remember that our religion teaches being truthful. We must nsure sure that in every dealing that we have with our peers, superiors, or customers, we are always being honest even if it may not make us look good. Honesty in Eyes of Allah is obligatory, and the right way. Any profession that dilekinya, seyogianya honest nature always adorn herself. Any transaction that is made on lies, there will be bigotry, no barakah, no blessings from Allah in that transaction. It will end up hurting you more then you think you will gain from it.
Second: Amanah (trustworthy). How important the concept of honesty is to Islam and how it incorporates truthfulness and reliability. Another dimension of honesty is trustworthiness, or in Arabic, amanah. It is something or someone left to someone to protect or keep. One of the important commitments we must build in our life careers, besides honesty is trust, or a commitment to keeping trust. Being trustworthy implies being honest, fair in dealings and punctual (in terms of both regularity and timeliness) as well as honouring trusts and keeping promises and commitments. An important part of the noble Islamic character is being trustworthy. Prophet Muhammad was known, even before his Prophethood to be Al Amin (the trustworthy one).
Third; Tabligh (openness). Tabligh means communicative and argumentative. It is interpreted as friendly, courteous, polite, communicative, transparent, enthusiastic, and highly motivated. People who have Tabligh as their trait, will convey information correctly (weighted) and using polite words (bi al-hikmah). If someone is a leader in the business world, he must be a man who is capable to communicate his vision and mission properly to his stakeholders. All activities of the company must be transparent, so it can be accessed by stakeholders. Furthermore, in the dissemination of the new regulations, an agent must implement it to the internal parties first, and then communicate to all stakeholders. This is done to reduce the occurrence of massive rejection which result in collisions and inhibit community wellbeing. As professionals, we must think of the importance of spreading messages in giving added value to others. We will grow if we grow another person. In tabligh also contained the meaning of openness. Open or transparent behavior is important to a professional. Transparency is closely related to honesty and the nature of trust, even it is a reflection of both traits. People who are honest and trusty will not hide something that should be revealed.
Fourth; Fathanah (intelligent and wise). Fathanah can be interpreted as intellectual, intelligence, and wisdom. It is interpreted as intelligent, clever, innovative, creative, and strategic. The implications of fathanah in the business management are indicated by performing all management activities intelligently, by optimizing the existing potential sense to achieve the goal. In connection with the implementation of Islamic Business Etics, then a business person needs to be innovate continuously with patience, tenacity, perseverance, and accuracy. In fact, intellectual ability is not the only benchmark to assess a person's professionalism. It means nothing smart if he is immoral. Fathanah is not just smart but also visionary and innovative, responsive to seize opportunities to move forward and create something that is efficient, efficient and highly competitive.
In addition to these basic values, a Muslim professional must always maintain the ultimate goal of his life. Wherever and in whatever profession our core purpose is only one, i.e. in order to dedicate ourselves to Allah swt in order to obtain His blessings.
At the end of his sermon, Rector insisted that if we are to win global market competition, we must also have professional character based on honesty, trust, openness and intellectuality. Hence, such a frame of mind leads one to acquire Allah's consent and to behave sincerely.
Rector also had the opportunity to be a Friday prayer priest, followed by thousands of students, lecturers, education staff and the general public around the IPB campus, Dramaga, Bogor. (Wied)
