Creating Efficient Traveling App, IPB Students Win IT Competition 2018

Students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) from Department of Computer Science won the Runner-Up position in the Arkavidia Informatics & IT Festival Competition in Bandung (9-10/2). This competition was organized by Informatics Study Program, System and Information Technology Study Program, and Informatics Student Association of Bandung Institute of Technology.

With the theme of “Gaining Independence in IT Through Innovative and Sustainable Startup” and “Technovation” as sub-theme, IPB students succeeded in developing a cost-saving travelling application called "Trivia" a.k.a Country via apps.

One member of the team, Airlangga Vishnu, said that this travelling application is designed to facilitate the travelling journey of travelers who will be on vacation.

"This application does not bridge the travel or airline transactions to travelers, but Trivia provides travel routes to travelers based on their wants and budget," he said.

To date, there are many travelers who do not understand the routes and conditions in the field, so the cost of travel would be more expensive. He added that one of the objectives of this application is to promote Indonesia as a tourism destination and to help local souvenir or tourism business.

Airlangga and the team hope that in the future they can develop this application as startup business in the field of Indonesian socio-preneur after graduating from IPB. (TK)
