Of course this international event enabled me to improve my English proficiency and established networks with them. In addition, this program invited us to learn and their cultures, as well as to promote our traditional cultures for them," she said.
In addition to cultural activities, Besty also joined TRANCH Melaka. This 3-day program is devoted for international students to learn the historical background of Melaka city, and tasting these typical foods in this city.
Besty's trip to neighboring country, Malaysia, was not smooth as expected. She had problem with visa application to enter, it took a little longer to solve therefore her departure to Malaysia had been postponed.
"The visa problem cause her missed some courses, as she arrived two weeks late of schedule. But the kindest of staff and lecturers enabled her to make up the missing courses," she said.
Besty also suggested to other students who are interested in joining the next summer course program abroad to find detailed information of the program. Especially the visa requirements to entry the country you plan to go.
"Read carefully and complete all necessary requirements. The files should be prepared and submitted long before the deadline, to enable the accessors (foreign embassies or its representatives) to verify the necessary documents submitted," she said. (Wied)
