IPB Students from Cirebon Provided Pre-Lecture Insight to High School Students
Hundreds of Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) students originated from Cirebon who are members of the Regional Student Organization (OMDA) of the Cirebon Family Association (IKC) conducted a roadshow to 28 High Schools (SMA) in Cirebon at the end of the last month. Roadshow to these high schools is incorporated in the activity of IPB Goes to School (IGTS) 2018.
IGTS is an educational socialization event organized by IPB through OMDA that aims to introduce the world of IPB campus. The total number of students visited the IKC roadshow was 5500.
IKC members conducting roadshow were 130 people. The presence of IPB students was greeted well by high school students in Cirebon City and Cirebon District.
"We got many interesting things in this roadshow, Cirebon is a large area and there are schools located on the border between the Provinces of West Java and Central Java. It took two hours from the city centre to get to these schools. The road is rough, even there is still a rocky road. All fatigue was paid off when we saw that the high school students were very enthusiastic to welcome the socialization delivered by IKC. They said there were not many colleges and universities which came to their schools to socialize like IPB," said Adi Gilang Pratama as Chairman of IKC.
According to M. Nizar, one of the students of SMAN 1 Pabedilan, this socialization answered all questions that have been kept by the high school students. He hoped that next year's socialization will be longer so that more information can be obtained.
In addition, a Counseling Guidance Teacher (BK), Aryo Noto Negoro, said that he highly appreciated this activity. It was a concern of IPB students to his younger siblings to be able to continue studying to higher educational degree. (TK)
