The Sciencepreneur Team of IPB Won the Second Winner of IMCB Day 2017 Marketing Debate
A group of students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again made successful achievement in the national arena, and it made us proud of. This time, the Sciencepreneur team of IPB was proclaimed to be the 2nd winner of marketing debate competition among students all over Indonesia in Marketing Competition in International Marketing Community of Binus (IMCB) Day 2017, held by IMCB, on 11-13 December 2017, in Binus University, Jakarta.
The IPB delegation for the debate competition consists students of three different Department, namely Futiha Hikmatul Husna of the Biochemistry 2016, M. Arif Ilyanto of the Department of Sharia Economics 2016, and Zulfa Fauziah of the Department of Management 2017. This competition is a prestigious annual event and is very demanded by business or marketing students in Indonesia. To win the competition in this marketing competition, the three students must compete with other teams from universities in the country.
Debating has strict rules of conduct and quite sophisticated arguing techniques. Starting from the preliminary round to the semi-finals, they competed each other with teams who are proficient in marketing. Most participants of the debate are students majoring in business or marketing.
"We are very enthusiastic in participating in this prestigious competition. To be honest, we were very desperate and motivated to join such prestigious competition. As none of us have a strong foundation in marketing, so we have to work hard to prepare it. In the semifinals we managed to defeat the team of the host university, the Binus University, with a motion controversy Big Code ethical code in the point of view consumers, "said Arif.
Expressing arguments and solutions in this competition would be a challenge for the three of them. Another member of the delegate, Husna, added that their Sciencepreneur team was successfully named as the favourite team by the jury. "The jury is interested in the style of arguing and the substance of our arguments, especially knowing that the three of us have no basic in marketing but are able to articulate a good argument in this debate," he added.
After undertook some steps of debating, from the preliminary to the grand final round, finally the Sciencepreneur team of IPB won the second winner for the competition. The first and third winners were won by the host university, the Binus University. (Wied)
