The Grand Launching of Healthy Stevia Cafeteria, Logistic Center and IPB Book Store

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held the Grand Launching of Healthy Stevia Cafeteria, Logistic Center and IPB Book Store, recently. The Grand Launching was inaugurated by the Rector of IPB Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto by doing push button switches and cutting tumpeng.

The event was attended by Vice Rector for Facilities and Business Sector, Dr. Arif Imam Suroso; Director of Business Development of IPB, Prof.Dr. Yusli Wardiatno; Deans of IPB; as well as the students who were granted the prospective innovation award from the Directorate of Business Development of IPB.

IPB Rector said that the goal of establishing the healthy canteen is to provide healthy, tasty, and cheap foods for students and university communities of IPB. Furthermore, Logistic Center is a facility dedicated to logistical operations for agricultural basic materials to be distributed to all canteen and business partners in IPB. All materials distributed by the  Logistic Center of IPB will be can be guaranteed as healthy materials.

"The establishment of Logistic Center is expected to develop the entrepreneur spirit of students and university communities of IPB, so that they can join the Center to become distributors," said Rector.

Meanwhile, IPB Book Store is expected to intensify the publication of internal IPB both lecturers and students. It is the ultimate resource for general books, professional and technical reference books, educational supplies for the university communities.

Coincided with Grand Launching of Healthy Stevia Cafeteria, Logistic Center and IPB Book Store, the university also set  the granting of innovation awards for the most innovative students. This award is selected based on the Student Creativity Program (PKM) in Entrepreneurship which had been funded by Directorate of Higher Education (DIKTI) of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia

Of the 48 (forty eight) students of IPB whose proposals for  PKM-K were qualified to get funding support by DIKTI, 10 (ten) of which were selected by the Directorate of Business Development IPB to be granted for Innovative awards. Those 10 (ten) PKM-K were classified into two categories: 5 (five) prospective innovations, and 5 (five) the most prospective innovations.

The 5 (five) PKM-K group classified into the most prospective innovation were granted development funds amounted to Rp 5 million/groups. While the other 5 (five) prospective innovations were granted development funds amounted to Rp 3 million/group.

The  5 (five)  prospective innovations were Klausa Cake, So-Imut branded seaweed sausage, Starbann torbangun leaf steak, yellow pumpkin innovation anti ulcer alias Pandawa Lima, and NoneMushroom. Whereas the other 5 (five) award-winner for the  most prospective innovations were D-Koang bengkoang (pumpkins) donuts, Chicken Eggshell for Kitchen UtilityChef-Ku, aromatherapy lamps Empu Srimulat, cream extracts bengkoang (pumpkins) Creamy, and convinience catfish business innovation PakLe House.

Prof. Yusli expected that awards will encourage students to more creative,  more enthusiastic to continue to develop other prospective innovations.

In this launching event the labelling process for Healthy Stevia Cafeteria took place. This program is to ensure customers that the best sanitation procedures are being carried out consistently and effectively process and serve hygienic foods. Henceforth, healthy canteen labelling activities will be carried out to cafeteria throughout IPB campus.
