P2SDM LPPM IPB Launched Youth Skills Training
Center for Human Resource Development (P2SDM), Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in cooperation with PT. Holcim Indonesia Tbk launched the Youth Skill Training for Automotive and Electrical Installation, at Club House of PT. Holcim Indonesia Tbk Kelapanunggal Bogor (16/1). Training with the theme "Building Entrepreneurs of Youth" was participated by 40 youths in Klapanunggal District, Bogor Regency.
Head of P2SDM LPPM IPB, Dr. Amiruddin Saleh, said in this globalization era, to provide high motivation for youth must be equipped with competence including having a business plan. Youth must be committed to advancing the village through the Village Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) program. "Youth need to have networks to develop and commit themselves in building the village; the youth need action rather than talk," he said.
He asserted that youth must have strong competence, management and network in facing competition in building work. "Hopefully the youth can manage the potential of the region, so that it can give real contribution in determining their choices i.e. to be the recipient or earners of wagers," he added.
Manager of PT. Holcim Indonesia Tbk, Edi Prayitno said, this activity is expected to increase interest and talent, especially the youth skills to be more advanced and progressed to a better direction. He hopes that in the future the youth will be given assistance to be able to manage the business in the field of automotive and electrical installation properly. The youth who are trained in this training are expected to have skills that can help to get a suitable job according to their competence.
The resource persons in this training were the Department Head of Manpower and Transmigration of Bogor Drs. Yous Sudrajat, M.Si, and the researcher of P2SDM LPPM IPB Ir. Yannefri Bachtiar, M.Si. (TK)
