IPB Students Present Unemployment Problem Solution at International Conference Event in Japan
Starting from a small chat at a coffee shop, three IPB students successfully presented the solution of unemployment problem in Indonesia on 7-8 October 2017 in Tokyo Japan. They are Ario Anindito, student of Business School (SB); Satrio Bayu Saputra, student of Department of Nutrition Science and Feed Technology (INTP) Faculty of Animal Husbandry (FAPET); and Nadya Avitri Shafira, student of the Department of Food Science and Technology (ITP) Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FATETA).
"Our participation in this international forum in Japan started from a conversation at the coffee shop in the evening, and then we try to draw it and discuss it more intensively," Ario said.
The conference event attended by Ario’s team with the theme “Social Science and Humanities” under the special topic of Humanities was organized by the International Academy of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Management (IASTEM) in association with the World Research Library.
In this special theme, there were speakers representing 13 countries, including Japan, Pakistan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, China, and Indonesia. Ario and team were the only undergraduate participants introduced by moderators, while other speakers were PhD participants. The series of events from this conference activity included Japanese cultural tours, group discussions, and paper presentations.
On this humanitarian topic, Ario and the team tried to find a small solution they can do to solve the unemployment problem in Indonesia and improve the regional economy. The solution they offer was the village youth education program. The program has three gradual series of activities, namely education programs, training, and guidance.
Youth are invited to explore the potential of the region as a source of local livelihood that can be utilized (education programs). After that the business management training is held, and the last stage is to develop the business field with the aim of creating new jobs.
"Never give up on the opportunity even though it is small," Ario said. This message was conveyed by Ario from his experience of preparing this activity in a short and brief time between his organization's busyness. (UAM/NM)
