Achievement

Indonesian Young Professional Paper Awards (IYPPA) 2017 is an award-winning event dedicated to students throughout Indonesia who have contributed positively to the development of science and technology in research and scientific papers. The theme of the event was on "Exploring Ideas to Generate Millennial Innovators". The event was  organized by KOMA Youth Collaboration, a scientific community in Makassar which consists of students from various universities, both private and domestic from all regions of South Sulawesi province.

This event was participated by 421 students who submitted their papers, they were from 50 various universities throughout Indonesia.

Ilham Maulidin, the undergraduate student of 2015 of the Department of Agroindustrial Technology (TIN), of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology of  Bogor Agricultural University (FATETA IPB), won two awards from the IYPPA 2017. This student, whowas born in Limbangan, Garut, West Java,  won the Gold Paper Award (Champion 1) and The Most Impactful Reseacher of Indonesia 2017.

The assessment of the application for IYPPA 2017will be based on the following assessment criteria:  ideas, prototypes, and applicative. In addition, the winning three students of 12 Disciplines each was awarded as: 1. Gold Paper Award 2. Silver Paper Award 3. Bronze Paper Award. The conferment of IYPPA 2017 was held on Saturday,  25November  2017 at Baruga Anging Mamiri Building, Makassar, South Sulawesi Province.

"The innovation that I expressed in my competition paper was on COBOY or Eco Board Play. COBOY is a learning medium based on positive environmental action that contains environmental conservation efforts for children, with five important aspects of teaching, namely conservation and plant cultivation; a pattern of rules for orderly living in the era of environmental concern to maintain the healthy state of their surroundings; relocation of rivers / water into ecotourism sites; 3R's waste processing innovation; as well as anything related to garbage, "said Ilham.

The student who is enthusiast on the community development programs explained that children should be taught to love and preserve the environment as early as possible  through this game. The world of children is a world of play, so the approach taken to cultivate environmental concerns through educational games is very prospective.

"I was the first son of the family with seven children, who had the opportunity to pursue my higher learning education in state universities through IPB Bidikmisi scholarship program. It’s my gratitude to serve or to be beneficial to others,  I want my life to be meaningful to the community, as I believe living a meaningful life might matter even more than happiness." he concluded.
