IPB is Ready to Support the Development of Taliabu Island
Rector of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria and Taliabu Island Regent H. Aliong Mus, ST signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the Rector Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (16/1). According to the Regent, this cooperation is expected to increase the agricultural potential of Taliabu Island.
Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria conveyed the geographical characteristics of Taliabu Island is very distinctive and suitable with the existing expertise in IPB. "For that, we will support the program of Taliabu Island District Government. We have Research and Community Service Institution (LPPM), 10 faculties, Business School and Vocational School, with diversity of competence," said Rector.
For the improvement of human resources (HR) capacity in Taliabu Island, Rector emphasized, IPB opened the opportunity for the prospective students from Taliabu Island to study in IPB through the scheme of Regional Delegates Scholarship (BUD). The scheme will be directed for the capacity building of human resources. The graduates will return to their hometown to support Talibu Island development.
Regent of Taliabu Island, H Aliong Mus expressed their hope that IPB can fully support Taliabu Island in all aspects. "Hopefully today's meeting will be the first step for better development in Taliabu Island Regency," he said. (TK)
