Faculty of Animal Husbandry of IPB Participated in the Pioneering of the Establishment of the Association of Indonesian Editorial Board

Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Fapet), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), participated in the pioneering of the establishment of the organization of the Association of Indonesian Editorial Board (ADEI). The launching ceremony of the Congress of the Association of Indonesian Editorial Board I (ADEI) was held in the Livestock Research Center, Bogor (26/1). The inauguration was conducted by the Director of Intellectual Property Management, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) of RI, Prof. Sanjuga.

ADEI would be the official representative of the Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE) in Indonesia in managing journals and manuscripts. CASE was an association of editorial board of the regional journals of Asia in South Korea, it aimed to improve the quality of journals published in Asia to contribute to the development of the science and the human welfare.

ADEI was a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit organization. As a forum to gather the board of editors of the national scientific journals in Indonesia. This organization had a vision to become the organization that contributed to the development of the science, the technology, and the arts in Indonesia. The organization had a mission to improve the quality and the legibility of Indonesian journals, as well as to promote to the international level.

Chairman of ADEI who was also Professor of Faculty of Animal Husbandry of IPB, Prof.Dr. Komang G. Wiryawan, conveyed that the formation of ADEI was expected to accommodate the cooperation, the communication and the information among members and other professional organizations at the national, regional, and  international levels. Other than that, it was expected to improve the quality of Indonesian scientific journals by sharing information and consultation about editing and publication; to conduct the guidance to maintain the quality of the scientific journals in Indonesia; to seek the readability of Indonesian journals at the national, regional and international levels.

“ADEI will host for the activity of The 5th Asian Science Editor Conference and Workshop in collaboration with Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors (APAME) on 18-19 July 2018. It will be attended by approximately 250 participants from the Board of Editors in Asia Pacific. We hope that ADEI can become a partner of the government and in the future the results of the congress can be a good foundation,” said Prof. Komang.

The congress participants were the representatives of the editors under the auspices of the universities, the assemblage and the association of profession, the agricultural research and development agency, the health research and development agency, and LIPI coming from various fields of science, including the health, the agriculture, the engineering, the language, the arts, the culture and others which amounted to 60 journals both from Java and outside Java.

Vice Rector for Resources and Strategic Studies of IPB, Prof.Dr. Hermanto Siregar, delivered the support of IPB to this organization. While, Head of Center for Research and Development of Animal Husbandry (Puslitbangnak), Dr. Atien Priyanti Sudarjo Putri, welcomed the presence of ADEI. “As a researcher, I am happy and very proud, the office of Puslitbangnak will be recorded in history as the first congress place of ADEI,” she said.(dh)
