Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again produced and presented  its current 750 graduates in the Open Session for the Graduation Day of Phase 1 for the Undergraduate, Professional Veterinarian, and Graduate Studies Program for Academic Year 2017/2018, on Wednesday, 17 January 2018, at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), Dramaga Campus, Bogor. At the present commencement, IPB handed over graduate certificates for 21 doctoral degree holders, 191 Master of Science degree holders, 3 Professional Master holders, and 513 Bachelor degree holders.

One of the graduates conferred at the present graduation was Amy Phang Hui Yi, the Malaysian student from Selangor. She had been student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bogor Agricultural University (FKH IPB), cohort 50.

In 2013, she joined IPB. "The first year at IPB, I studied at Joint Preparation Level (TPB) along with new friends who were friendly, affectionate and always willing to help me to adapt from various aspects of life, such as culture, language, and daily habits. I am very grateful for having such good friends and seniors who cared and were sensitive to me, as well as friendly and wise faculty members," she said.

One more experience she got was the campus life at FKH IPB, it is quite discipline with various regulations. "All of them have shaped the students become more professional, competent and well-behaved. Discipline is such an integral part of student lives that we cannot imagine our existence without it. We often talk about it when we become weary of living a disciplined life and wish to break free from it. Then, realization dawns on us and we travel back in time and start thinking about our school days when teacher used to teach us the importance of discipline in our lives. The most fun lecture for me was the Animal Behavior Sciences that often drives the curiosity of students," she concluded.

During her four years of study at IPB, she admitted that she made  new friends from various regions in Indonesia. She evaluated that Indonesia is a country full of diversity, home to numerous different ethnic groups, languages and religions. Indonesia is the vast country of sprawling archipelago it has much to offer, from natural beauty, historical heritage to cultural diversity. "When I was asked about the favourite foods, it was  rather difficult for me to choose between liwet rice and rice uduk. Both have a unique smell and taste unique, simple but satisfying," she said.

For Amy Phang Hui Yi, IPB is an established college with a wide campus. There are many organizations that available in university. The most prestigious organization in Indonesia is called BEM (Students Executive board). While she had been learning at Bogor Agricultural University college she joined the Student Activity Unit (UKM) on Archery and IPB Equestrian Unit. (Wied)
