Another encouraging achievement in the international arena again was achieved by a group of students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), namely Nur Badri and Nursdianyah. The team has won the bronze medal at the International Eureka Innovation Exhibition (I-EIE) 2017, held at Malaysian Spanish Institute of Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"Alhamdulillah we managed to win the bronze medal in the category of 'innovation ideas'. We successfully won the prestigious event by presenting our work on " Chipax Oxide; Solusi Pengemasan Produk Hortikultura = Chipax Oxide; Horticultural Products Packaging Solution" said Nur Badri IPB a team member in I-EIE 2017.

Chipack Oxide is a bioplastic or eco-friendly packaging made of chicken feathers and shellfish shells. The goal is to maintain freshness of fruits and vegetables with ethylene capture base and inhibition of microbial activity. Chipax Oxide is used for the packaging horticultural products such as vegetables and fruits.

According to him, I-EIE is an annual international activity held by UniKL-MSI in cooperation with the People's Mandate Council (Mara) and International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA).

"The three-day I-EIE 2017 event, 25-27 July 2017, was participated by hundreds of inventors from various countries at different levels of educational background such as professors, doctors and engineers," added Bardi.

Although not yet won the gold medal but the achievements made in the event is a tremendous achievement for the team because it is an international competition with international participants from Asian countries and European as well. (Wied)
