IPB Student Won the 3rd Winner for Javanese Athletic Event

The athletic competition in Java has been completed on 28 October. The competition under the title “University of Indonesia Annual Athletic Championship” (UIAAC) is an annual athletic competition organized by the University of Indonesia. In this year's UIAAC 2017 competition branches of sports  to be competed were Shot Put (athletics), long jumps, running for 100 m, 200 m, 800 m, 1500 m, 4 × 100 m, 4 × 100 m, and 5000 m relay.

In this special event the student of the Department of Aquaculture, of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Bogor Agricultural University (FPIK IPB), Mohamad Iqbal Kurniawinata,  successfully won the third winner for 200 meters running in this competition.

"I want to get other experiences in outside campus competition. Moreover, this athletic competition is specifically for Javanese universities, so it has becomes another  motivation for me," said Iqbal.

The male student who is now active in the Association of Aquaculture Students of IPB and Student Activity Unit (UKM) for Basketball previously also managed to win the third title in the same activity long jumping last year.

To make such achievement, Iqbal began his intensive training a few weeks before the event. The exercises were coordinated by Student Family of the Student Executive Board (BEM KM) IPB. IPB representatives were selected from students who are interested in joining sport competition and partly taken from the Olympic Student Olympiad (OMI) team.

In addition to be active for athletic competition, student who is now in the final semester is planning to participate in the basketball competition upcoming December. With reference to the achievement he made, he urges IPB to establish the athletic community in the campus so that more and more athletes IPB will be successful to present achievements in sports for university.
