IPB Student Utilizing Uno Syariah to Promote Early Islamic Economic Education
One student of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Retno Khairunnisa, again has made another achievement. She was elected to be one of the authors of the book "29 Solusi untuk Indonesia Muda Berdaya (29 Solutions for Indonesia Powerful Youth)". It is an anthology book containing a collection of selected stories from the alumni of Future Leader Summit (FLS). FLS is a national youth conference in Indonesia held annually By Nusantara Muda.
Out of 25,212 (twenty thousand two hundred and twelve) applicants, 240 (two hundred forty) applicants were elected, and 9 (nine) of whom were students of IPB. Retno Khairunnisa was one among the nine IPB students elected for FLS. In the book, Retno, who is student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Bogor Agricultural University (FEM IPB), expressed her creative ideas and concrete solutions on sharia economic education from an early age.
The concrete solution Retno wrote for the “29 Solusi untuk Indonesia Muda Berdaya” was the educational game of Uno sharia. This game was one of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) which enabled Retno and her team flew to Makassar to join PIMNAS XXX event. In the event Uno Syariah was awarded the bronze medal for presentation category.
"I feel that pupils of both state high schools and junior high schools should also get the similar education related to Islamic Economics. In addition, as we understand that Islamic Economics has become one of the scientific disciplines so it is really interesting to learn it. Plenty of questions raised by junior and senior high school students during the implementation of PKM proved that they were enthusiasm to learn it, "said Retno.
Since her childhood Retno has an interest in education, even until now she concentrated in this field. Recentlly she was elected as member of the Ministry of Education of Student Executive Board (BEM) of KM IPB 2017, under such student organization she develops her interest in education.
"When I was a little child, once my father brought me to one of the remote schools in Pandeglang, and the poor condition of the school made me sad. There is the school building, but no students on it. The facilities were also imperfect, and the location of the school was really inaccessible, it far from the community housing complex. This experience is one of my motivations to continue working to educate the public, "said Retno.
Retno is known to have made plenty of achievements. She won various national championships in various competitions such as scientific writing competition, business plan and essay writing. Therefore, this year Retno was recently elected as the Best Performance Student of IPB.
"I want travel around Indonesia, it has motivated me to join various national races," she concluded. (Wied)
