Education is not just to read and write. It is about using education for their own advantages and to utilize the knowledge for their growth. Also one can lead their own life without depending on others. It helps the countries to grow economically and cherish with prosperity. To improve the quality of education at universities, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held a standardization workshop for lecturers, at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Bogor Agricultural University (FMIPA IPB), on 14 December 2017. Participants of the Workshop included faculty members of the both the undergraduate and graduate studies programs of all Faculties and Departments of IPB, and also the Directorate of Diploma Program (D3). 

In addition, the workshop was also to synchronize the educational standards of IPB with national education standards from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) RI and National Accreditation Board – Higher Education (BAN-PT).

Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of IPB, Prof. Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono, said that this synchronization is very important because it determines the quality of higher education especially when the university is being assessed by the auditors of BAN-PT. The purpose of this workshop was to develop an integrative model of quality assurance in higher education performance which refer to the requirements described in the  national standard of higher education (SNPT). Currently the educational standard of IPB refers to the national standard of education from Kemenristekdikti. In the future, the education standard of IPB will refer to the national standard of education from BAN-PT.

National Standard of Higher Education (SN-Dikti) Kemenristekdikti version consists of 24 standards of higher education consisting of 8 SN of education, 8 SN field of research, and 8 SN field of devotion. While the national standard of higher education version of BAN-PT consists of only 8 SN Dikti, namely the competence of graduates, the content of learning, learning process, assessment of learning, lecturers and educators, learning facilities and infrastructure, learning management, and learning financing.
