In 2017, the program of Friday Tour, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), ended in Babakan Village, Dramaga Sub-district, Bogor District, Friday (3/11). The activity of the Friday Tour this time was placed in the Mosque of Nurul Falah RT.06 RW.01.

Head of RW.01, Ahmad Rivai, thanked to IPB which had established the partnership relationship through the activity of the Friday Tour of IPB. He said, IPB had a lot of helped the residents of Babakan, not only in mentoring and fostering the sector of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), but IPB also had sympathized a lot of orphans. 

“We hope that IPB will continue to build the villages and to provide the motivation, the training, and the spirit for the residents around the campus, so that the residents around the campus can gain a more prosperous life,” he said.

According to him, the activity of the Friday Tour of IPB in the village / kelurahan around the campus should continue to be maintained and continue to be sustainable. “The existence of IPB with the program of the Friday Tour is a lot of benefits and helps the residents around the campus to improve the economy,” he explained.

Chairman of the entourage of the Friday Tour of IPB, Secretary of Center for Human Resource Development (P2SDM), Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) of IPB, Warcito, SP, MM, said that the purpose of the activity of the Friday Tour of IPB in 17 villages / kelurahan around the campus was that the existence of IPB in the middle of the residents around the campus could be useful.

He said, IPB continued to commit to run the program of the Friday Tour around the campus of IPB. This year, he explained the focus of activities on the implementation of hygiene and sanitation of UMKM of the food household industry.

The activity of the Friday Tour of IPB in Babakan Village was started with the Product Hygiene Training of UMKM by the researchers of Center for Food Science and Technology and Agriculture of Southeast Asia (SEAFAST) of LPPM of IPB, Ria Choiratul Nur, A.Md. This training provided the knowledge of how business actors could produce the food, maintain the hygiene, and take precautions to avoid the food and drink from the danger, whether the physical, chemical, and biological dangers which could cause the disease. Furthermore, the socialization of Service Center for Prosperous Family (PPKS) was done by Agrianita of IPB.

The Team of the Friday Tour also had the opportunity to give the compensation to 20 orphans; the assistance of the health equipment for the Integrated Service Post; and the learning supplies in the form of the books of Iqro and Al Quran for Majlis Taklim. Also attending this event was Agrianita of IPB, the team of Public Relations of IPB, and the team of LPPM of IPB. (Awl)
