Training Course on “Rations Formulation for Animal Feed”

The Association of Students of Animal Nutrition and Feed (HIMASITER) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) organized the 'Formulation Training of Rations for Animal Feed', on 16-17 September 2017. The event was participated by 50 representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, farmers from various regions in Indonesia, and formulators from PT Ultra Animal Husbandry South Bandung (UPBS), Pangalengan.

Professor Chair Holder of the  Department of Nutrition Science and Feed Technology (INTP) of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry of Bogor Agricultural University (FAPET IPB), Prof. Dr. Nahrowi, was invited as the resource person for Feed Formulation Training. In his opening remarks he stated the importance of the training course, especially for the animal feed industry in Indonesia.

Other resource persons for the Training Course were Prof. Dr. Luki Abdullah,  who presented his presentation on the superior breeding Indigofera sp.; Prof. Dr. Yuli Retnani, who presented her presentation on  the processing of feed based on Indigofera sp; Dr. Idat Galih Permana, who presented his presentation on software-based information communication and technology (ICT) applications for farmers to formulate rations for livestock; and young entrepreneurs, who has graduates from the Department of INTP IPB, Tekad Urip Pambudi, SPt, M.Si who share his experiences as successful breeders.

One of the participants from Kalimantan, Risdiantoro, stated by attending the course in addition learning how to utilize agricultural waste as animal feed, he also learn how to produce feed to suit the nutritional needs of his livestock. (Wied)
