The Student of the Department of Communication Science and Community Development of IPB Was Awarded the UPSUS Companion Award
Fevi Rahma Dwi Putri, Student of the Department of Communication Science and Community Development of the Faculty of Human Ecology of Bogor Agricultural University (FEMA IPB) was awarded as Best Companion of Program Upaya Khusus (UPSUS Special Effort Program) for the Improvement of Rice, Corn, and Soybean for 2016, She represented IPB for such event, which was carried out in Yogyakarta at the end of 2016.
She said the award was really an unexpected pleasure for her. "At the beginning she did not realize that there would be awards for UPSUS's best companion. She had been carrying the UPSUS Program activities for the benefit the community," she said.
She admitted she was really touched and happy to know that he was selected to receive the award. Fevi was one of the facilitators in UPSUS Program activities organized by the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) RI together with the Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKNT Thematic Field Work) of IPB for 2016, in Malasari Village, Surade District, Sukabumi Regency.
Fevi told her various exciting experiences when she attended UPSUS Program activities. Starting from sharing knowledge to the field with farmers to harvest rice and other horticultural crops. For her, doing her job as a companion of UPSUS Program activities enabled her learning a lot of lessons as she got to pass on a lot of knowledge to farmers.
"The most important experience she learned when she was doing UPSUS Program activities, was the time she carried out her jobs together with Agricultural Extension Service to disseminate agricultural information to farmers. During which, she had been the consultant for farmer groups to help them solving their agricultural problems," he explained.
Therefore, she would like to express her gratitude to those who have given the opportunity to participate in UPSUS Program activities, the guidance to enable her to get the UPSUS companion award. (Wied)
