Industrial Economic Expert of IPB Shared the Successful Key of Livestock Export in Seminar ILDEX 2017
Dr. Arief Daryanto, the industrial economic expert of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), said that in an era of very high and global competition it took thoughts that were metanoia. Namely new thoughts that were in accordance with the dynamics of competition occurred.
This was delivered by Dr. Arief when being a speaker in the national seminar themed "Peningkatan Dayasaing Industri Protein Hewani di Era Hiper-Competition / Enhanced Competitiveness of the Animal Protein Industry in the Hiper-Competition Era" (18/7). The seminar was held in order to welcome the implementation of ILDEX 2017 (Indonesia Livestock Exhibition), which would be held next October.
The speakers present were Dr. Erwidodo (International Trade Policy Expert, PSEKP) and Dr. Denni Purbasari (Industrial Economic Expert, UGM, and Office of the Presidential Staff).
In the presentation, in the face of a very high and dynamic era of global competition, the actors and the policy makers should encourage the animal protein industry to always improve the efficiency, the productivity, the quality, the food safety, the horizontal and vertical integration, the value added, and the branding along the industry value chain.
The actors in the animal protein industry especially the large-scale poultry companies should also be encouraged to export the chicken meat to Asia or globally. The approach should be holistic and integrated.
“The keys to the success of export are the low production cost, the cuts products according to the consumer taste, the rigorous level of sanitation and veterinary application, the implementation of production standards in accordance with international best practice or referrals, the expanded of the market access and distribution of modern and extensive networks,” said the man who currently carried the mandate as the Adjunct Professor in the School of Business of University of New England Australia.
On the occasion of the seminar, the participants of the seminar got the souvenir in the form of the latest book written by Dr Arief Daryanto entitled "Dayasaing dan Rantai Nilai Inklusif Industri Peternakan / Competitiveness and Inclusive Value Chain of the Livestock Industry" published by IPB Press.(**/Zul)
