Fadiyah, Student of IPB Selected as the Best Knowledge of Environment Ambassador 2017
Fadiyah Hasta Puspitasari officially became the Best Knowledge, one of the seven categories of the best finalists for IPB Green Environment Ambassador (IGEA) 2017. The coronation of Fadiyah Hasta Puspitasari as the Best Knowledge was conducted in Auditorium of Sylva Pertamina, Faculty of Forestry (Fahutan), Campus of IPB Dramaga Bogor.
Student of Department of Shariah Economic Science, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) said that, her participation to follow the IGEA 2017 was a passion call and felt moved to care about the campus that led to IPB free of waste 2020.
Fadiyah explained, during following this IGEA program she got many insights into the environment of IPB and its surroundings. IGEA itself provided the debriefing to 20 finalists who cared about the environment by conducting the trainings in various fields, especially the environment.
“During the training, the finalists also do the teamwork to clean up the environment of IPB to be free of waste. Our waste-free activities which we begin from us which are transmitted to friends, bestfriends even if it can be to the community and the staff around the campus of IPB,” she said.
She said that, she got the knowledge not only in the upstream, but to the downstream, namely the final waste disposal of the campus of IPB and Bogor District. “The visit to TPA Galuga is our activity observing how much garbage which is issued by the campus every day, and seeing the use of plastic waste which is still dominant. Therefore, the finalists of IGEA try to campaign of using the ecobag and the tumbler for the students to reduce the existing plastic waste in IPB,” she said.
On the peak night of IGEA 2017, she had been named as the person with the title of the Best Knowledge. A mandate which according to her should be able to educate the students of IPB to care about the campus environment that the waste production we produced was already too much.
The commitment of 20 finalists of IGEA 2017 after finishing the peak night was to do the program together by being controlled by the Ministry of Environmental Conservation (PLH), Student Executive Board of Student Family (BEM KM) of IPB. “The program that we will do has the main goal, namely toward IPB free of waste. The campaign that will be done is not enough to change IPB, but the small movement that begins with us invites the close friend and others to say “NO” when receiving the plastic bags while shopping anywhere, and switching to use the ecobag.(Awl)
