Thousand of Visitors Attended IPB Job Fair forJobs and Scholarships Hunting

In order to sites providing access for job seekers and scholarship hunters, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) organized IPB Job Fair "Career & Scholarship Expo 2017". The event was participated by dozens of companies, scholarship providers and thousands of visitors, on Saturday-Sunday, 13-14 May 2017, at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor. This Fair was the cooperative program between the Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations (DPKHA) and Student Executive Board – Student Family (BEM-KM) of  Bogor Agricultural University.

The participating companies consisted of those that engaged in agriculture, banking, insurance and financing, IT, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. Whereas, for the institutions of scholarship providers are national and international universities and institutions that provide Scholarships.

Sub Director of Career Development Student DPKHA of IPB, Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara, stated the rising levels of graduate unemployment in Indonesia has been  relatively higher. On the other hand, companies complain that they have difficulty filling their vacant posts, they are not being able to find appropriate candidates for their companies. Plenty of applicants, but few of them qualified. To respond such problem,  DPKHA of IPB tried to provide job seekers, especially  IPB other university  graduates,  in finding their appropriate posts or to provide opportunities for them to get funding supports to pursue their higher degree programs.

"This periodic event played matchmaker for 45 (forty five) companies with more than thousands  openings and 22 (twenty two) National and International universities and institutions Scholarship Providers," he said.

Yet, the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) of IPB, Prof. Dr. Yusman Syaukat, on behalf of the Executive Boards of IPB in his opening remarks of IPB Job Fair stated that  as state university IPB will try to assist the government in reducing open unemployment rate in Indonesia. Currently, according to  the Central Statistics Agency there are around  530.000 (five hundred thirty thousand) of graduate unemployment in Indonesia.

Present at the opening of IPB JobFair 2017 among others were representatives of Executive Boards of Faculties of IPB,  representatives of the directors, and head office of IPB. In addition, there had been a lot of students; Alumni of both IPB and other universities in Bogor,  as well as the general public who interested in finding their suitable posts or receive first-hand application of the available posts in the near future.
