Students of IPB Lived the Art of Rebana Nusantara Playing the National Songs
The national song was one of the identity of a nation which could increase the sense of the nationalism in everyone who sang and listened to it. The Indonesian national anthem was the national identity owned by the Indonesian nation. The national songs in Indonesia were numerous and varied, but the songs that were sung were still very limited, whereas there were still many national songs loaded with the moral messages, so it was very appropriate given to the children from the early age.
The worries about the sinking of the national songs which were rarely heard in Indonesian community, and the children who sang more adult songs made us nervous, would be how Indonesia in the future, when its own citizens did not know the national song of Indonesia. Even though, we knew that the national anthem was one of the national identities of a nation which could increase the sense of the nationalism in everyone who sang and listened to it. So it was said by Abdul Habib Luthfi, the student of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).
Therefore, Abdul and four of his friends; Ahmad Firdaus, Ahmad Nuruddin Zanki Widiyantoro, Oktavia Rahayuningtias, and Azib Ernawati through the student creativity program (PKM) of IPB 2017 introduced the program titled “Pelantara”. Pelantara was the introduction program of the national songs through the art of rebana nusantara to the children in Madrasah Diniyah Al-Ihya Dramaga. In the event of Isra’ Mi’raj Al-Ihya Pusat, the children of Madrasah Diniyah Al-Ihya Dramaga were humming the sholawat song and the national song of Ibu Kita Kartini accompanied by Rebana Nusantara.
According to him, this program was expected to be a way for the development of the child’s character. One way to form the character was by introducing the national songs, because the songs were loaded with the positive values and the moral messages in them. The moral values inserted in the lyrics of the national song contained the spirit of the nationalism which could be the basic capital of the character formation. Educating a child through a song would be more effective, because through the music it would be more easily interpreted by the child’s brain and would tend to last longer in his memory.
“The children eagerly sing the national song together. Their parents also support the holding of this program to increase the children’s abilities and the children’s knowledge of the national songs,” he explained.(Zul)
