Here were Five Favorite Study Programs in IPB
Bureau of Legal Affairs, Promotion and Public Relations (Bureau of HPH), Bogor Agricultural University (BHPH-IPB) held the Workshop on the Report and the Evaluation of IPB Goes to School (IGTS) 2017, Saturday (22/4) in the Auditorium of Sylva Pertamina, the Faculty of Forestry, the Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor. Head of Bureau of HPH IPB, Ir. Yatri Indah Kusumastuti, M.Si, said that this workshop aimed to capture the aspiration of the Regional Student Organization (Omda) committee and the improvement of the implementation of IGTS in the future. “This year IPB again promotes IGTS in 56 regions in Indonesia. We hope that with the activity of IGTS, the number of applicant applying to IPB will increase,” said Yatri.
According to Yatri, five study programs of IPB which were the most interested by the participants of the National Selection to Enter the University (SNMPTN) among others: Actuary, Community Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, Computer Science and Statistics. “Each year the trend of the most popular study program changes following the tendency of the community,” she said.
On the entry lane of SNMPTN, IPB set a new admission quota policy of 55-60 percents. It was different from the other university policy which was only setting a minimum of 30 percents. IPB indeed gave more opportunities for the prospective new students through the lane of SNMPTN. It was because IPB had the data of School Academic Ranking (PERAKS) which became the reference of the quality of SMA and the selection of the new admissions during this time.
The Head of Promotion Bureau of HPH-IPB, Dr.drh. M. Fahrudin, said that, IGTS 2017 was attended by the participants as many as 18,705 people consisting of 17,967 students of Senior High School (SMA), 635 teachers of Guidance and Counseling (BK), 160 alumni and eleven principals. “The number of area visited in the activity of IGTS increases from the previous year, i.e. from 52 points to 56 points,” continued Dr. Fahrudin.
On that occasion, it was given the appreciation of Omda which excelled namely Omda Kemala, Lampung which managed to bring the most participants of IGTS 2017 as many as 2,102 students and Omda Banten which managed to do the most roadshows to 104 SMA. (ris)
