IPB has Signed the MoU Between IPB and PT. Krakatau Tirta Industri
Rector of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University), Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, and the President Director of PT. Krakatau Tirta Industri, Mr. Sofyan Amin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on Thursday, 2 March 2017, in the Rector Meeting Room of Andi Hakim Nasution Building, Campus IPB, Dramaga, Bogor. It was then followed by the signing of a cooperation agreement by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FATETA IPB), Prof. Dr. Kudang Boro Seminar, and President Director of PT. Krakatau Tirta Industri.
In his remarks Rector stated that so far IPB has advanced a productive and innovative research agenda, attracting competitive national and international grants. So far IPB has achieved to produce innovations based on its research programs, developed technology, and formulated policies to develop modern and optimum agribusiness model to realize a strong national production system. Thus, IPB’ role in generating innovations has been more evident, and the IPB’ reputation is getting better in the national and international arena.
He explained that, based on assessment of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (KEMENRISTEKDIKTI) RI together with the Business Innovation Center (BIC) Indonesia, within the nine consecutive years on 2008-2016, IPB has become the largest contributor to most prospective innovation in Indonesia. During which 359 out of the 936 Indonesian innovations were produced by IPB, the largest number compared to other universities and research institutions.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT. Krakatau Tirta Industri, Mr. Sofyan Amin, expressed that it was really an honour to be given the opportunity to establish cooperation with IPB to develop the industrial and technological sectors, especially in water treatment. Further, he urged all sectors of society, such as universities, government authorities, and industries to jointly protect and preserve the environment and minimize negative impacts due to their activity. "We hope IPB, the university that produced the most promising innovations will implement the MoU as required, and assist to develop the company dealing with water purification business for the benefit of all of society," he added.
For IPB, this cooperation is a tangible proof of its participation in assisting the development of all fronts that includes water purification technology industry, and community service. Present on this occasion the Secretary of the Institute of IPB Dr. Ibn Qayim, Deans, Vice-Deans, Faculty members and researchers, as well as the executives of PT. Krakatau Tirta Industri. (Wied)
