Cooperation of IPB with Four Districts in North Sumatra

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) established the cooperation with North Tapanuli District, Toba Samosir District, Karo District, and Humbang Hasundutan District. The signature of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was conducted on Tuesday (24/1) in the Meeting Room of Rector, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, Campus of IPB Darmaga, Bogor. The cooperation included improving the quality of the human resources in the sectors of the education, the agriculture, the research, the community services, the environment, and the provision of expert assistance.

The signature was conducted by the Vice Rector of Research and Cooperation of IPB. Prof.Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi; the Regent of North Tapanuli, Drs. Nikson Nababan; the Regent of Toba Samosir, Ir. Darwin Siagian; Acting Officer of the Head of the Office of Community and Rural Empowerment, Karo District, Ir. Nasib Sianturi, M.Si; and the Regent of Humbang Hasundutan, Dosmar Banjarnahor, SE. Being presented in this activity including the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) of IPB, the Deputy Head of Research of LPPM of IPB, the Deputy Head of Community Services of LPPM of IPB, the vice deans and the lecturers in IPB.

Prof. Anas Miftah Fauzi said, it was an honor of IPB to be able to be working with four districts in North Sumatra Province. “IPB will help realize the development of the construction which is more prospering the residents by bringing in lecturers and researchers who are competent in their fields,” he said.

On this occasion, Prof. Anas explained the paths of the new admissions provided by IPB, namely Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / National Selection of the Entrance of State Universities (SNMPTN), Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / Joint Selection of the Entrace of State University (SBMPTN), Ujian Talenta Masuk / Talents Exam of Entrance (UTM), Beasiswa Utusan Daerah / Regional Representative Scholarship (BUD), and Prestasi Lokal dan Internasional / Local and International Achievements (PIN). “The hope is, the best students of North Sumatra Province can learn on the campus of the people of IPB,” he said.

“IPB is expected to be the commander in our district. It can improve and develop the agricultural sector in the broad senses, by providing the training and development of the human resources, especially the farmers, so that the lives of farmers become better and prosperous,” said the Regent of North Tapanuli, Drs.
