A total of 28 (twenty eight) students of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management of Bogor Agricultural Institute (FEM IPB) conducted overseas trip to Hong Kong,  on 26 – 29 September 2016. The aims of their official visit was to expand their global horizons, to especially on economy and public services. The activity held on 26 to 29 September 2016. The present trip was jointly organized by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia in its promotion of culture and tourism of Indonesia in Hong Kong.

The trip was organized by the Himpunan Profesi Mahasiswa Ilmu Ekonomi dan Studi Pembangunan  (Hipotesa – the Association of Professional Student on Economics and Development Studies) of FEM IPB. It was one of the Hipotesa’ programs to provide media for its members to have comparative studies with universities abroad both to do student activities and program with academic atmosphere.

One item of the Economics Trip 2016 Program was university visit, namely to the Economics Department of Lingnan University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Then the group continued their trip to visit the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia for Hong Kong and Macau.

At Lingnan University, the host university performed a slide presentation and discussion on the academic, campus profiles, master program (M.Sc) on Financial Economics and Banking, funding support, as well as the campus tour. Meanwhile at HKUST, the group were invited to have campus tour, that include the facilities and student life.

In the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia for Hong Kong and Macau, the group were officially received by His Excellency Consul General, Mr. Tri Hidayat. During which he presented the bilateral economic and trade relations between the two countries, Indonesia's labour and other hot  issues. (Wied)
