Debriefing of Prospective Graduates of IPB

Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations (DPKHA) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held the debriefing of the pre-graduation, Monday (19/9). The activity held in Auditorium of Andi Hakim Nasoetion of Campus of IPB Darmaga Bogor was intended to motivate the prospective graduates.

Presented as the resource persons were two alumni of IPB, namely Director of Negotiation of ASEAN, Dr. Donna Ghultom, and drh. Setiajid who successfully had a career of the entrepreneurship by having a fried chicken franchise business.

Dr. Donna Ghultom told to all prospective graduates of IPB in order to prepare themselves by utilizing the existing technology, among others by seeing what was happening in the world. In facing the Economic Community of ASEAN (MEA), she urged to strengthen the language, particularly English.

“English is a must. The hard work of the graduates should be increased. The hope is, 50 percent of IPB graduates can become the entrepreneurs,” she said.

Another message of Dr. Donna was that the prospective graduates had to learn about E-commerce. According to her,  E-commerce was an incredible field. “In developed countries, the malls are deserted. Their tradings are online using E-commerce. Therefore, we have to get up there. Today, the world has been utilizing IT as the media of business,” she added.

Meanwhile, drh. Setiajid conveyed that the communication skill was also important to support the career that would be run, either as an employee as well as an employer.(dh)
