Children of the Villages Around the Campus Expected to Be Able to Study in IPB

The children of the villages around the campus of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) hoped to be able to continue to study in IPB. This was expressed by Sakim, Secretary of Cibanteng Village, at the time of Friday Tour, Friday (23/9). “The children of Cibanteng Village should be able to learn and draw the knowledge in the reputable agricultural university like Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). We want to prepare our children to be able to learn in IPB. It is an honor when the children of Cibanteng Village can follow lectures in IPB,” said Sakim.

Sakim appreciated and thanked to IPB which had been assisting and fostering the people of Cibanteng particularly in the fisheries sector. During this time, according to him, IPB becomes the village goverment partner by establishing and fostering the Integrated Service Post, providing training, fostering the cadres and the constructive inputs for the progress and the welfare of the community. “Looking forward, hopefully, IPB becomes a bridge to the progress of our children who want to continue to study in IPB,” he said.

Chairman of the group of the Friday Tour of IPB, the Deputy of Institute for Research and Community Services of the field of the Community Services, Dr. Hartoyo, said, the activity of the Friday Tour  in addition to knit the ties with the people around the campus, it was also as a part of activity of Tri Dharma of IPB, especially the community services. The working program of IPB in the field of the community services among others was: to foster and promote the villages around the campus of the aspects of economics, education, environment and health. “IPB is open to accept the children of the people of Cibanteng  in order to be able to study in IPB. Therefore, we advise to the children of the people of Cibanteng, let’s improve learning achievement! Show that the children of Cibanteng village can also learn and study in IPB!” he asked. 

The activity of the Friday Tour was followed by the Socialization of the Service Center for Family Welfare Pusat Pelayanan Keluarga Sejahtera (PPKS) by Agrianita of IPB, the granting of donations for orphans, the provision of the medical devices for Integrated Service Post, the provision of desks and stationery to PAUD, as well as the health checks and the free administration of drugs. These free examination and administration were held by IPB in cooperation with Dompet Dhuafa Republika. (Awl)
