IPB Organized the International Student Forum and Cultural Night 2016

Directorate of Student Affairs of Bogor Agricultural Univeristy (IPB) and Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Keluarga Mahasiswa (BEM KM – Student Executive Board Student Communities) of IPB organized International Student Forum and Cultural Night 2016, on Sunday, 13 March 2016. The theme of the present International Student Forum (ISF 2016) was on “Sustainability Youth Empowerment through Social, Economic and Environment” was held in the auditorium of the Common Class Room, of IPB campus, Dramaga, Bogor. This special event was participated by 100 international students of  IPB and approximately 50 Indonesian students of IPB, UGM and UNHAS.
 
Vice Rector of Research and Cooperation of IPB, Prof. Dr. Anas M. Fauzi, said that ISF 2016 is an important forum to increase the  international outlook of IPB students through interaction and discussions on global issues together with their counterparts from other countries.
 
Yet, the Cultural Night 2016 (CN 2016) with theme on “United in Love and Respects”, was carried out at Grha Widya Wisuda, IPB campus, Darmaga, Bogor. The present CN 2016 was participated by more than 2000 (two thousand) students and other university communities of IPB.
 
Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Sugeng Santoso, said that the cultural performances by international students not only aims to introduce their cultures to IPB students, but also to strengthen the friendship between international and Indonesian students of IPB. "Cultural exchange program such as ISF and CN is actually the hospitality program of IPB for international students who pursue their studies here at IPB," he said.
 
Present at the ISP and CTN 2016 among other was the Program Director of Six Universities Initiative Japan-Indonesia (SUIJI), Prof. Dr. Masayuki Shakakibara, accompanied by supervisors of SUIJI of Kagawa University, Ehime and Kochi University. University delegates of 10 countries, namely Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Madagascar, the Philippines, Liberia and Pakistan, participated actively in the ISF and CN 2016. This international meeting was the official forum to  interact and share of information between foreign (international) and Indonesian students of IPB, and it is expected to be planned regularly as a routine program at IPB in the near future.
