Hundreds of Students of SMA 109 PGRI (Senior High School) of Tangerang Visit IPB

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) received a visit of 155 students from SMA PGRI 109 of Tangerang, recently. They were welcome at the Auditorium Toyib Hadiwijaya, Faculty of Agriculture, Darmaga campus of IPB. The visit is one of the programs in the school curriculum in order to introduce the students to higher education.

 

One teacher of the SMA 109 of Tangerang, Wahyu Sulandari S.Pd said that this visit is to give an appropriate understanding of higher education as well as provide motivation for their students to continue studying. He said, IPB chosen as the visit location because IPB has a good quality of education and is quite close to the school. "The fields of studies in IPB are so many and have a good rating," he said.

 

The school students were given exposure to IPB profile by Head of Promotion Division of Legal, Promotion and Public Relations Bureau of IPB, Dr. drh. M. Fachrudin. Then, the students visited Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), and the Faculty of Animal Husbandry (FAPET).

 

Fitri, of Grade 11, said this visit has made her more motivated to learn more seriously in order to prepare for the registration to tertiary education later. "I’m really interested in studying at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry," she said. (Mtd)
