Seminar on 2015 LPPM IPB Research Results

The Institute for Research and Community Service of IPB (LPPM) again organized the seminar on its research results and the community services carried out by IPB for 2015. This special event was implemented for two days, on 1-2 December 2015, at IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor. The theme for the present seminar is  "Pemanfaatan Hasil Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PPM) untuk Membangun Sentra Produksi Pertanian yang Modern dan Optimum (The Utilization of Research and Community Service to Develop the Modern and Optimum Agricultural Production Centers ".
 
This event was officially opened by the Head of LPPM of IPB, Dr. Prastowo. In his opening remarks he stated one of IPB’s mandates for 2016 that LPPM will carry out excellence research program as breakthroughs and to conduct effective community service.
 
Referring to those 2 (two) mandates, since 2014 LPPM has been developing a knot collaborative innovation program to implement the excellence research programs and effective community service. "This seminar will enable us to establish collaboration with IPB’ partners of both the national and provincial governments, as well as the private sectors to develop the model centers of modern and optimum agricultural production," explained Dr. Prastowo.
 
Further, Dr. Prastowo stated to achieve excellence research and effective community services, LPPM IPB has initiated to develop field stations for horticulture, livestock, fisheries and other agricultural production centers. "A total of 80 field stations have been developed in various places in Indonesia. Field stations have been adopted by the government and will be scaled up nationally. The field stations that had been scaled up among others are IPB Prima for rice, Sekolah Peternakan Rakyat (SPR – School of Animal Husbandry of the People), and Nusantara Agricultural Clinic program, "said Dr. Prastowo.
 
For the present seminar 302 (three hundred two) titles were presented, 61 (sixty one) out of those titles were presented orally, and the other  241 (two hundred forty one) were  presented in posters. Various aspects of research programs that includes foods, energy, natural resources, health, social, economic, and engineering technology. 302 (three hundred two) senior researchers  participated in this seminar.  One of the titles which was  scaled up in 2016 by IPB is the cultivation of soybean on water-saturated environment.
